Ontario's police watchdog says it is investigating after an officer shot and injured a 50-year-old man in Collingwood.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon near a home on Rhonda Road, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said.
The SIU says the man was taken to hospital, where he remained as of Wednesday night.
Ontario Provincial Police say its officers were called to Rhonda Road for reports of a disturbance before the shooting.
The SIU investigates when someone is shot at, seriously injured, sexually assaulted or killed by police.
Collingwood is 150 kilometres north of Toronto, on the shore of Georgian Bay.

SIU reviews police conduct after officer-involved shooting in Collingwood disturbance
A 50-year-old man remained in hospital on Thursday after he suffered a gunshot wound during a fight with a provincial police officer in Collingwood a day earlier.
According to the Special Investigations Unit, which reviews police conduct in Ontario, officers were called to a home on Rhonda Road for a disturbance.
As an officer approached the home around 5 p.m. on May 21, the SIU says there was an “altercation” and an Ontario Provincial Police officer fired her gun at a man.
The man was treated by paramedics who took him to a hospital where he remained on Thursday, said the SIU.
Two investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
