Oxford County OPP officer charged in roundabout collision

(ZORRA TWP., ON) – On January 22, 2017 at 7:40 p.m. members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision at the round-a-bout located on Road 68 and Line 37 of Zorra Township.

Investigation revealed that the driver of a Chevrolet van was travelling southbound through the round-a-bout when it was struck by a marked police cruiser traveling eastbound entering into the round-a-bout.

Nobody was injured and damage to both vehicles was minor.

Provincial Constable Randi Rawlings was subsequently issues a Provincial Offence Notice for Failing to Yield.

Rawlings is a three year veteran with the Oxford County OPP.

An OPP officer is charged with a traffic offence following a two-vehicle collision in Zorra Township, west of Woodstock.

The collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, at Road 68 and Line 37.

According to the OPP, a police cruiser was entering the roundabout when it hit a van that was making its way around the roundabout.

An Oxford County OPP constable with three years of experience is charged with failing to yield to traffic.

Nobody was injured in the collision, and neither vehicle received significant damage.
