South Porcupine OPP officer charged with assault

Timmins Police have arrested and charged and Officer with the South Porcupine OPP with two counts of assault.

The charges stem from a complaint received by police when they were called to a residence in the east end late Sunday.

Neil Pryor of Timmins was arrested and a bail hearing was held on Monday.

He was released on a Recognizance of Bail.

A local provincial police officer has been charged with two counts of assault.

The charges were laid after officers with the Timmins Police Service were called to a residence in the east end of Timmins late Sunday evening.

Based on the results of their investigation, a 45-year-old man was taken into custody.

The accused was subsequently released following a bail hearing held before a Justice of the Peace in Timmins on Monday.

Charged is Neil Pryor, an officer with the South Porcupine detachment of the OPP.

His next scheduled court appearance is in Timmins provincial court on Feb. 26.
