OPP officer charged over crash involving cruiser

A police officer has been charged with careless driving after hitting a parked vehicle with his cruiser.

Huron County OPP say the crash occurred at night on Dec. 29, on Napier Street in Goderich.

Neither vehicle was significantly damage.

OPP say the officer is a constable in his second year with the organization.

OPP Officer Charged After Hitting Parked Vehicle In Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) - Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Napier Street in Goderich Ontario on December 28, 2017 at 8:09 p.m. involving an OPP cruiser and a parked vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the member was traveling on Napier Street when his vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Damage to the cruiser and other vehicle was minimal.

As a result of the investigation, Constable Matthew HALL, a two year member of the OPP, was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
