An 11-year officer with Provincial Police has been charged after a crash in the Township of Erin.

Wellington County OPP say they were called to the intersection of County Road 22 and Concession 10 on Monday after a crash involving an OPP cruiser.

Through an investigation, they determined the officer had failed to stop at the intersection, and ultimately rammed into an incoming vehicle.

Police say neither driver was injured as a result of the crash.

OPP Constable Sukhvinder Toor has been charged with disobeying a stop sign.

An 11-year veteran with the OPP has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in Erin.

At about 6 p.m. on Monday (July 17), members of Wellington County OPP were called to the collision occurring on Wellington County Road 22 near Concession 10.

The preliminary investigation by police has revealed the OPP cruiser was travelling north on Concession 10 and failed to stop at the intersection before striking a vehicle headed east. Nobody was injured in the crash.

Following the police investigation, the OPP has charged the officer involved in the crash under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act.

Const. Sukhvinder Toor, an 11-year veteran with the OPP, is charged with disobeying a stop sign — failing to stop. The charge has not been proven in court.

An OPP officer has been charged with running a stop sign following a two-car collision here on Monday.

Wellington County OPP officials responded shortly after 6pm on July 17 to the collision at the intersection of Wellington County Road 22 and 10th Line.

Police say an OPP cruiser was traveling northbound on 10th Line "and failed to stop at the intersection of County Road 22, striking an eastbound vehicle."

Neither driver was injured.

Provincial Constable Sukhvinder Toor, an 11-year veteran of the OPP, was charged with disobeying a stop sign (failing to stop).

OPP officer charged over crash involving cruiser

A police officer has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Erin.

The crash happened Monday evening at intersection of County Road 22 and the 10th Line, north of the Erin town centre.

According to the OPP, it involved a northbound police cruiser and an eastbound vehicle.

A Wellington County OPP constable with 11 years of service has been charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
