An OPP constable has been issued a provincial offence notice following a collision in Paris.

County of Brant OPP investigated a collision on Friday at at 7:04 p.m. on Dumfries Street in involving a police cruiser and civilian vehicle.

The investigation revealed the officer was traveling southbound on Dumfries Street when he was unable to stop for a vehicle braking in front of the cruiser he drove. The cruiser struck the rear of the civilian vehicle.

There were no injuries reported and minor damage to both vehicles.

As a result of the investigation, a provincial constable was issued a provincial offence notice for following too closely contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He has served with the OPP for 13 years.
