OPP officer charged for rear-ending vehicle
Posted: Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:07 amA veteran OPP officer has been ticketed for driving her cruiser into the rear of a vehicle ahead of her.
OPP said Const. Amanda Allen — a member of Essex County OPP for 24 years — was heading south on Erie Street South in Leamington just before noon on Nov. 21.
There was a civilian vehicle stopped in front of her. Allen’s cruiser struck the vehicle from behind.
An ambulance was sent to the scene, but no injuries were reported.
Allen was charged under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act with following too closely.
