Television Rd. east of Peterborough reopens after police cruiser involved in collision

A section of Television Rd. east of Peterborough was closed for an investigation Saturday afternoon following a collision involving a police cruiser and an SUV.

Peterborough County OPP closed Television Rd. between Maneice Ave. and Old Norwood Rd. early Saturday afternoon. Traffic was later opened to one-way traffic along the stretch while the investigation continued and the road was back to two-lane traffic after 6 p.m.

City police were called in to investigate the collision.

The province's Special Investigations Unit, which investigates collisions involving police when there are serious injuries, has not been called in to investigate.

Police did not provide any details Saturday on how the collision happened or whether anyone was injured.

Both vehicles had extensive damage.
